Built in 1840, the two-acre Grade I Listed Temple Works was thought to be the largest single room in the world. Having been largely vacant since 2004, Temple Works suffered a partial collapse in 2008 which led to its inclusion on the Heritage at Risk Register in 2009. In 2018 CEG purchased the building and Pierre Angulaire, acting as Project Manager, has been assisting the developer to secure the restoration and future use of the important site. This is being achieved by working to systematically restore the building at the same time as supporting a wider Masterplan.

The Temple Works restoration project will arrest the decay of Temple Works and convert it into weatherproof, secure, and flexible spaces ready for future use. It is a unique structural challenge due to ongoing deterioration; Pierre Angulaire have led the rigorous technical options appraisal by world class engineers – to inform proof of concept design (RIBA 2).
